Twitterati bash David de Gea after his howler gifts Joe Allen the equaliser

A rare mistake by Manchester United goalkeeper David de Gea helped an unimpressive Stoke City walk away with a point at Manchester United.
The home team dominated the first half but their inability to convert the chances cost them dearly in the end. Stoke goalie Lee Grant had a brilliant game as he made a string of saves keep the Potters in the game. However, he could not do much when substitute Anthony Martial opened the scoring in the second half with a brilliant curling shot.
With Stoke City struggling to build any threatening attack, United looked destined for three valuable points. But in the 82nd minute, United number one David de Gea made a blunder when he spilled a routine shot and Joe Allen capitalised on the mistake to punish the hosts’ inability to put the game to bed.
With this draw, United are now sixth in the table with 13 points from seven games, 5 points behind the leaders Manchester City. As expected, United fans were not happy with their goalie’s howler and took to Twitter to express their frustration.
Here are some of the tweets:

Terrible goalkeeping by De Gea there. Makes you appreciate the ageless wonder that is Gigi Buffon that much more.

De Gea again with a massive mistake. Makes one per match. Most overrated GK in history.
