The UEFA Champions League have finally kicked off on Tuesday, and none could have expected a better thrilling action. Inter Milan and Liverpool‘s last moment goal and Lionel Messi hattrick was the highlight of the opening day.
UCL kicked off on Tuesday with some thrilling matches.
FC Barcelona 4-0 PSV

A superb hat-trick from Lionel Messi helped Barcelona secure a comprehensive 4-0 victory over PSV in their first game. PSV couldn’t stand against the Spanish giants, and the trashing began after a terrific free-kick goal from Messi. Meanwhile, Ousmane Dembele‘s goal-scoring form continued, as this time he scored in the Champions League.
However, Samuel Umtiti earned himself a red card which might turn into a big factor when they will face Tottenham in their next game.
Monaco 1-2 Atletico Madrid
After Samuel Grandsir put Monaco in front, Diego Costa equalized for Atletico Madrid, and just before the break, José María Giménez’s goal gave the away side a vital boost.
And in the end, the match saw no goals in the second half, and Atletico Madrid flew home with all three points.
Club Brugge 0-1 Borussia Dortmund
Christian Pulisic will remember his 20th birthday for a long time, as he struck the winner with five minutes remaining against Club Brugge. Coming off the bench, the youngster broke the deadline and earned his side a vital away win.
Inter Milan 2-1 Tottenham
Christian Eriksen’s first-half goal seemed to have earned Tottenham a crucial away win. But it’s not the end until the final whistle blows, and Inter gave Spurs a shock in the dying minutes of the game.
A goal from Mauro Icardi at the 85th minute and Matis Vecino in the stoppage time stunned the away side with a 2-1 defeat.
Liverpool 3-2 Paris Saint-German
The match which was the highlight of the opening day of the Champions League. What fans expected is what the two sides delivered!
An absolute goal-fest at Anfield went in favour of Liverpool in the end with a 3-2 win. Daniel Sturridge scored the opening goal, while James Milner converted the penalty to double the lead.
However, Thomas Meunier scored one for PSG before the break. And the youngster, Kylian Mbappe equalized, and it seemed like the home side had to settle with a point.
But Roberto Firmino, who was not even fit before the match scored the winning goal in the stoppage time.
Crvena Zvezda 0-0 Napoli
The clash between the two sides ended in a goalless draw. Fine saves from Milan Borjan helped Napoli to not suffer a shock defeat against the home side, Crvena Zvezda
Schalke 1-1 Porto
The teams who look equal on paper left the field with one point each. Breel Embolo’s strike gave Schalke the lead, but Porto pulled level through Otávio’s penalty 15 minutes from finishing time.
Galatasaray 3-0 Lokomotiv Moskva
Galatasaray thrashed Lokomotiv and gave no chance to hold a grip on the game. Goals from Garry Rodrigues, Eren Derdiyok and Selçuk İnan secured an all to easy win for the home side.
