Manchester United didn’t just lose to Chelsea at Stamford Bridge this afternoon.
They were humiliated.
Goals from Pedro, Gary Cahill, Eden Hazard and N’Golo Kante sealed a memorable win for the Blues as they climbed above Tottenham into fourth place.
Antonio Conte’s team picked up just one point in September but they’ve managed to win three out of three in October. They now sit just a point behind joint-leaders Manchester City, Arsenal and Liverpool.
As for Jose Mourinho, the less said about this one the better.
The Portuguese was making his highly-anticipated return to west London after last year’s sacking. This is the one game he will have looked at when the fixtures were announced and thought, ‘I’d love to win that one’.
Instead, he will go back to Manchester with his tail between his legs.
There isn’t one Man United player who can be proud of his efforts but those who travelled all the way to London will have wanted to see some compassion at the final whistle.
So the sight of Zlatan Ibrahimovic smiling as he shook hands with Hazard has sparked quite a furious response.

It’s not gone down well on Twitter. However, harmless Ibrahimovic’s behaviour is, he must know that the last thing supporters wanted to see him doing after a 4-0 hammering was smiling.
Annoying getting dicked 4-0 and seeing Ibrahimovic smiling as if nothing had happened

The Swede made an exceptionally quick start to life in England, scoring five goals in his first five appearances, but the goals have dried up.
Ibrahimovic, who missed an opportunity to equalise, has scored just twice in his past 10 games.
He can start smiling when he snaps that run.
