Manchester United are reportedly planning to offer Bayern striker Robert Lewandowski a mouth-watering contract of £11million to snatch him away from Bayern Munich.
Lewandowski has been in blistering form for Bayern Munich this season, scoring 15 goals in 13 Bundesliga appearances.
Apart from Manchester United and Liverpool, Real Madrid and Paris Saint-Germain have also been closely connected with the Poland striker, who has now become one of Europe’s most feared goalmachine.
The Reds were also heavily connected as Jurgen Klopp now in charge of Anfield, a potential link between the Klopp and Lewandowski naturally resurfaced given the good relationship Klopp and Lewandowski had during their time at Borussia Dortmund.
United’s sufferings in front of the goal have been clear for all to see, Wayne Rooney has faced the brunt of the fans’ criticism, having netted only twice in the Premier league this season.
And as German paper Sport Bild is suggesting, Manchester United have set their sights on Lewandowski and van Gaal is ready to match PSG’s huge salary package of £10.9million per year to temp him for a move to Old Trafford.
The Dutch manager has already revealed his desire to bring more pace to his attacking line and Lewandowski, whose current contract with Bayern runs until 2019, would certainly fit the bill.
