- Steffen Freund
This tough tackling, no nonsense midfielder built such a rapport with Tottenham Hotspur that years later he would join the ranks as assistant manager to Andres Villas-Boas to further enhance his status as a cult hero.
On the pitch Freund was an absolute nuisance and was uncharacteristically German in the way he dived, argued with referees and prompted opponents to get booked (Diego Costa style).
He also found it difficult to hit the back of the net, but unlike John Jensen, he would not manage to register a single goal for Spurs during a five year spell in North London.
