Valencia set to hijack Merseyside club's move for Arsenal star
According to the latest report from TalkSport, Valencia are plotting a move for Arsenal goalkeeper David Ospina. The Colombian has signed for the Gunners last season and managed to grab the No.1 spot from Wojciech Szczesny during the second half of the season.
The Colombian played a crucial role in Gunners’ resurgence during 2015 and helped them clinch 3rd position in the Premier League after a slowish start to last season. However, Ospina has recently revealed his interest in joining Everton but Valencia are set to hijack the deal as they are ready to bring the Colombian on a season loan deal.
The 26-year old will definitely not start despite his amazing performances to Gunners as the London based club has recently signed Petr Cech from their bitter rivals Chelsea. The Czech international is expected to be their Number one next season given his experience in Premier League.
Gunners would be happy to let leave Ospina on a loan deal rather than completely sell the player to Merseyside Everton. The player still has three years left in his contract and has iterated about his family being happy in London.
A season long loan deal would be ideal both for the player and the club as he is tipped as a long term successor to Cech in the coming years.
