The Dutchman had addressed the media on 20th July and said that a surpise signing is on the cards and the media speculated that he was hinting towards a possible striker’s inclusion. He was asked about the possible links with Bayern Munich star Thomas Muller and Spanish striker Fernando Llorente to which he replied: “I don’t know if I want to buy a striker.
I have read in the media that a striker was the ‘surpise’ signing, but I never said that. You are taking it in a different way, I mean’t something else.”
Another important subject of specualtion among the media is United’s recrod signing Angel Di Maria’s future at the club. Few weeks back it was reported that the Argentine player might leave the club this summer after having a below average season at Old Trafford.
