Louis van Gaal and Manchester United have already reached a crunch situation on their come back to the Champions League this week. They travel to Germany to face a Wolfsburg side that is at the top of Group B. Manchester United simply have to win to enter the next stage if the tournament or will have to rely on PSV (just a points behind United) losing their game against Moscow at home.
It will not be an easy task to travel and take all three points from the game but the Red Devils will hope that the Wolfsburg side who were beaten on the weekend by Dortmund struggle again in the mid-week fixture. The Wolfsburg vs Manchester Untied match will be played on Tuesday the 8th of December at the Volkswagen Arena in Wolfsburg. The kick-off is scheduled at 7:45 pm BST (1:15 am on Wednesday IST).
Dieter Hecking does not have too many injury problems going into this match. Defender Dante who missed the mid-week game due to a suspension will find his place in the back four in this game. Luiz Gustavo and Ricardo Rodriguez are on their way to recovery and will have to undergo a late fitness test just before the game. Robin Knoche is definitely out of this game due to an ankle injury.
Louis van Gaal has a huge list of injuries with as many as 7 first team players missing for this game. He has called upon a number of youngsters for this make or break game in Germany. The most recent injuries have been to skipper Wayne Rooney and Morgan Schneiderlin, both of whom will not travel with the squad. Rojo, Valencia, Jones, Shaw and Herrera are also missing for this game. Paddy McNair who picked up an injury in the weekend game has travelled with the squad.

The ex Bayern Munchen defender Dante is an exceptional defender who reads the game really well. He is strong and has great ariel ability. He will have to deal with the likes of Anthony Martial on Tuesday. Martial has at times shown some great skill but will have to do really well against Dante if he wants to score and give his team all three points.
Schurrle vs Smalling:
Andre Schurrle has been an important player for Wolfsburg in their recent games. He is an excellent finisher who can also play in the mid-field he is tall and can cause problems for the United back four in the air. However, he will be up against Chris Smalling, arguably the best player for Manchester United this season. It will be an interesting battle as it can easily settle the tie.

Both teams are going into this game with un-favorable results in their domestic campaign last weekend. Wolfsburg lost to Dortmund in a high intensity game and will hope to produce a better performance against United. The Red Devils were unable to break the dead lock against he Hammers on Saturday and will need a quick reversal of fortunes if they want to stay in the competition. However it will not be easy for the travellers to get all three points from this game.
