Napoli striker Victor Osimhen scored 22 goals to help Napoli win the Serie A title, and the Nigerian has piqued the curiosity of a number of clubs, including Manchester United. The striker scored the equalising goal in Napoli’s 1-1 draw with Udinese, securing the club’s first Serie A title in 33 years.
Victor Osimhen has been a revelation for Napoli this season, scoring his 22nd league goal against Udinese. In the process, he beat Samuel Eto’o’s record for most goals scored by an African player in a single Serie A season, surpassing the 21 he scored for Inter Milan in 2010/11.

Victor Osimhen breaks silence of Man United transfer links
Unsurprisingly, Victor Osimhen’s outstanding season has attracted the attention of a host of clubs, including Manchester United, who recently dispatched scouts to witness him in action. Osimhen had himself stated earlier this year that he aspires to play in the Premier League.
However, when asked about his future by Sky Sport Italia shortly after Napoli won the Serie A title, Osimhen dismissed the speculation. He said:
“I’m thrilled with this victory. I’m happy for me, for the team and for the fans. I can’t wait to come back in Naples to embrace our fans, even though tonight I already felt the warmth of the people. I’m happy for all the Neapolitans. I scored the Scudetto goal, it’s true, but anyone else could have scored it. I feel like a leader and I never give up.
In a separate interview with DAZN, Victor Osimhen discussed his three years at Napoli and further opened up on his future at the club. He told the media outlet:
“Future? Now I want to enjoy this historic moment, this is not the time to think about my future. In what aspect do I feel I have improved in Serie A? I will forever be grateful to this league, to this competition.”

While Manchester United are interested in bringing Victor Osimhen to the Premier League, Chelsea are said to be interested as they look for a new striker under new manager Mauricio Pochettino. Other clubs interested in the ace include Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain, but it was widely assumed that Osimhen would prefer a move to England’s top division.
Sources are claiming that a transfer may cost up to £150 million, yet, it appears that even that would not ensure a sale. Osimhen is one of several attacking prospects on Manchester United’s wish-list as they look to prepare for the 2023-24 season. Erik ten Hag’s team is on the verge of qualifying for the Champions League, and a new striker is thought to be their top priority.
According to the Manchester Evening News, United will not extend a permanent contract to on-loan striker Wout Weghorst. The departure of the Dutchman will make room for a star signing in attack, with England captain Harry Kane among the other options being explored.
Kane, who has one year left on his contract, is a top priority for the Red Devils. However, the club is determined not to be held hostage and has compiled a six-man shortlist. Randal Kolo Muani of France is another name being discussed. However, as with Harry Kane and Victor Osimhen, United may face competition from Bayern Munich for the signature of the Eintracht Frankfurt player.
