An angry Wayne Rooney gave an earful to a journalist after he was asked about the wedding night that caused quite a stir in English football.
The Manchester United captain was pictured in English news outlet The Sun, looking worse for wear after the 3-0 win over Scotland.
A few days ago, he called the media disgraceful for damaging his image. He said:
“What’s been going on is disgraceful. I’m proud to play for my country and I’m proud of my achievements. I’ve not finished yet.I think what’s been going on is disgraceful. It shows a lack of respect and I think enough is enough. That’s all I want to say.”
The Manchester United star once again lost his cool as the matter was being highlighted again after his sizzling display in United’s 4-0 win over Feyenoord in Europa League tie. The 31-year-old Rooney, who was dropped against Arsenal last week, made history after opening the scoring at Old Trafford as he became Manchester United’s highest goal-scorer in European competitions.

When asked whether this performance was special after a tough few days, he told BT Sport:
“No, I think all that’s created by people like yourself asking questions now. I think people in the media are making a big deal out of nothing. I actually didn’t even set foot into the wedding and it’s a shame to have to talk about it now after such a great victory.”

Wayne Rooney fired the Red Devils to the lead after clipping the ball over the keeper from a brilliant through ball from Zlatan Ibrahimovic. Rooney then assisted Juan Mata to make it 2-0. An own goal from Brad Jones and a Jesse Lingard striker late in the game sealed the biggest win for Manchester United under Jose Mourinho. The Old Trafford outfit need just a draw now against Zorya Luhansk to qualify for the next round.
