Ronald Koeman may not be able to land Wayne Rooney after all as the English international is reportedly not ready to take any kind of pay cut for a move back to his boyhood club.
The Liverpool-born striker made a name for himself in his first stint at the Goodison Park before earning himself a move to Old Trafford back in 2004.
Ever since Rooney has made 393 league appearances in Manchester, establishing himself as one of the best attackers in the world of football.
He is currently the skipper for his club and country but at 31, is no more the first choice at both the clubs.

He lost his first team place under Louis van Gaal at Old Trafford and has failed to establish himself in the first team under current manager Jose Mourinho, who is now ready to let him leave this summer.
He has been getting offers from China and the US but it is reported that he would rather stay back in the Premier League, a move back to his boyhood club a decent possibility.
But according to reports from the Express today, Rooney’s wage demands might be too much for Everton to handle which might deprive them for a move for one of their greatest stars.
The English skipper currently earns £250,000-a-week + bonuses on his current contract at Old Trafford, that runs for another couple of years but Mourinho is ready to let him leave on the cheap before the start of the next season to make place for some new signings.

However, the report claims that Rooney is not ready to take an instant drop in his earnings even if it means playing for his boyhood club again.
The 31-year old recently became the top goal scorer for the Red Devils and is still one of the most exciting attackers on show in England.
He will be a superb replacement for the outgoing Romelu Lukaku but at his age, he is only a temporary fix.
So it is reported that Everton are not ready to meet his wage demands and are prepared to look elsewhere this summer. Do you think Rooney will move to Everton next season?
