Wayne Rooney trolled after Manchester United's Twitter handle wish him on birthday 1

There is absolutely no respite for Manchester United captain, Wayne Rooney even when he is out of the starting eleven. The out of form striker was celebrating his 31st birthday on Monday (October 21) but it seems the fans were not very much interested in wishing the player.

The England international was dropped from the starting eleven after a poor performance in team’s 3-1 defeat to Watford and came  off the bench in the league win over Leicester City as well as the Europa League clash with Zorya Luhansk. He came on late in United’s goalless draw against Liverpool and missed his team’s 4-0 thrashing to Chelsea due to injury.

The striker has been under fire for quite some time now. His prolonged drought of goal has coincided with United’s poor performances in the last one year and so and it seems that the Old Trafford faithful has finally lost their patience with the striker. Last month, the fans asked FA to ban the striker after his altercation with Pep Guardiola in the Manchester derby and now the fans have once again shown that they want the striker out of the team as soon as possible.

It all started when the official Twitter handle of the club wished Rooney on his birthday and the fans made the most of that.
