Manchester United captain Wayne Rooney is undoubtedly one of the greatest to ever play in the Premier League as well as the club as he has won it all at the club level with the Red Devils.
However, after spending 13 years at Old Trafford and recently becoming the greatest goalscorer of all time for the club with his stunning free kick against Stoke City in their 1-1 draw, there is little that is left for the 31-year old to prove himself in English Premier League.
He has been out of form in the past 18 months and new manager Jose Mourinho had no second thoughts to drop him to bench when not performing. He has so far managed only 8 starts in the Premier League.
He has scored an impressive 250 goals for United and has been heavily linked with a mega money move to cash rich Chinese Super League since the start of the season. According to Daily Star, Wayne Rooney’s wife Coleen has reportedly given a nod for the massive move as confirmed by a close source.
“It will be a Chinese takeaway,” the source said.
“It will take away his wife and family. Coleen knows it is Wayne’s job and he would be doing it for the family’s future. The money on offer is staggering.”
Rooney has been drawn interest from China and the clubs are ready to make a massive £140m offer and the United captain is keen to move to China with the money at stake.
The English international has only 18 months left in his contract with Manchester United in which he is earning £250,000-a-week. He is one of the best paid footballers in the game over the past decade but a move to China will make him the best paid footballer ever.
