Contrary to the popular belief that there is unrest in Manchester United dressing room following the public criticism of players by Jose Mourinho, Manchester Evening news has reported that all is well at the club right now. After the 3-1 loss against Watford, several stories emerged which suggested that Mourinho’s image has been tarnished among the players. But the news outlet claimed that the squad is in “good spirits”.In fact, the report has claimed that the senior players of the team have “never experienced a more optimistic atmosphere during their time at the club”.

The outspoken manager openly attacked Jesse Lingard, Henrikh Mkhitaryan, and Luke Shaw after his team lost three games on the trot. He was heavily criticised for his behaviour. According to reports in The Daily Telegraph, the United players were “shocked” by Mourinho’s behaviour and were worried about its impact on the less experienced players of the team.

As quoted in The Daily Telegraph, a source said:”His delivery of criticism is nasty. It is far more personal than Fergie ever was.”

Jose Mourinho publicly criticised Luke Shaw for his performance in the 3-1 defeat at Watford

But Manchester Evening News claimed that the arrival of the Portuguese tactician has improved the mood of the dressing room as he has hit a good rapport with the Spanish-speaking players. The likes David de Gea, Juan Mata, Ander Herrera, Antonio Valencia, Marcos Rojo and Sergio Romero have benefited from his appointment.

His decision to give the players a specified day off each week has made him even more popular.

The report says: “United players are ‘chuffed’ with the new regime, with the fixed days off-cited as the most pleasing aspect about it.”

The report also said that confidence at Old Trafford is “sky high” after the arrival of Mourinho and his coaching staff.
