West Brom continue their impressive run of transfers this season as they have captured Salomon Rondon on a £12million transfer from Russian side Zenut st Petersburg.

Manager Tony Pulis revealed how he got positive recommendations from fellow managers Manuel Pelegrini and Andres Vilas Boas regarding the 25-year old striker.

Both Pellegrini and Villas Boas have worked with Rondon and hold him high regards as he gets ready to show his talent to the Premier League fans.

Following his move to Hawthrons, Rondon expressed his delight at signing for West Brom and thanked the club for showing keen interest in him. According to Rondon, the most important thing for a footballer is interest from other teams for his services.

Pulis was delighted with Rondon’s signing as well. West Brom manager said: “We hope he hits the ground running of course but understand it might take him time to settle. I’m sure our fans will help him and get behind him. But we feel with age on his side and the prices English clubs are asking for their players, it’s a deal worth doing.

“He comes highly recommended. I have spoken to Manuel (Pellegrini) and AVB (Andre Villas-Boas), who have worked with him, and they were full of praise for the lad. We are looking forward to working with him.”

Despite the positivity around West Brom following Rondon’s signing, one cannot help but wonder if the Zenit forward has ben brought to the club as a replacement for Saido Berahino, who looks destined for a move to Tottenham Hotspur.
