Chelsea winger, Willian has asked his lawyers to take legal action over a forged letter. The Brazil star shared the document on Instagram stating it’s not his signature.
Willian Jose’s signature got forged on a document.
The letter, which Willian says has been “circulated through the football market”, claims to sanction a change in his representation until August 15.
The document says the Brazil star was at the centre of intense transfer speculation linking him to Real Madrid and Manchester United. Willian said on Instagram,
“I would like to clarify that I never signed such a letter, the content of which I completely deny. Finally, since there seems to be clear evidence that my signature has been forged, or any way misused, I hereby inform that my lawyers are already instructed to proceed with all appropriate legal measures before any competent courts or authorities. “I hope I have clarified the matter and any possible misunderstanding.”
The summer transfer window has been a pretty dramatic one for Willian. He has been linked heavily with many clubs especially, FC Barcelona. However, it looks the winger would extend his stay at the Stamford Bridge.
According to a few sources, the Spanish club made multiple offers for the Chelsea winger. But somehow the negotiations didn’t go well, and Barcelona ended their hopes on buying the winger.
The late arrival of Willian to Chelsea in the pre-season also prompted speculation that he had been subject to a bid. But it was later known that because of the passport issue, his arrival got delayed.
However, Chelsea manager, Maurizio Sarri admitted unhappiness over the situation. He promised to sit and talk with the winger in the coming days to sort everything out.
