Shakhtar Donetsk forward Alex Teixeira admits he’s flattered to be linked with a move to Chelsea. The Brazilian forward even welcomed the suggestion of joining the Blues later this month and is awaiting an official bid from the Premier League giants.
Earlier in month, Shakthar boss Mircea Lucescu gave Teixeira his blessing and wished him luck for his move to Chelsea, however, since then, nothing has moved forward.
Re-igniting the rumour mill, Teixeira was speaking to O’Globo, where he said: “It’s great to have a club like Chelsea interested in me,” Teixeira said. “I always try to do my job well and play to my best.
“Shakhtar Donetsk are not very big in Brazil, and I think I may need to move on to stand out and earn a place in the squad. That’s my goal for 2016.
The striker has been in great run of form, scoring 22 goals in 15 league games this season, a number Chelsea will be very pleased to have on board. Blues have struggled for goals this season with Diego Costa recently coming back to life, while Loic Remy and Falcao struggling for game time.
Apart from Teixeira, Brazilian Pato is also linked with a move to Chelsea. Hiddink will need to assess whether he wants Shakhtar man at £30million or above or he can do with a £10million Pato this month.
