Liverpool in the last few years have not been able to attract top quality European players as they have not been able top stay at the top of the Premier League consistently.

But the signature of Jurgen Klopp as their manager has seen the club instantly linked with a number of top class talent from all around the world.

A few days ago, it was rumored that Jurgen Klopp whose side is suffering badly with injuries is looking to fly in Bayern Munich star Mario Gotze to Liverpool.

From the oust, the news looked rubbish as even Liverpool fans were shocked to hear their club linked with a World Cup winner.

But just few days later, the ex-Borussia Dortmund star fuelled the rumors when he spoke about his situation at Bayern.

Talking about Klopp, “I know Jurgen Klopp well,” said Gotze, out injured since October. “I’ve worked under him. He is a very good coach, definitely.

“It’s all open, how to proceed after the season. I have a contract until 2017, but of course, it is important how the new coach feels about me.

“I have not really given my future much thought recently because of my injury, but everything is open as things stand. It all depends on the plans of the club and the new coach.”

However, he finished the interview insisting that he was not contacted not only by Liverpool but by any club so far in this window.

Gotze was one of the star players in the Dortmund side that won the Bundesliga under Jurgen Klopp before moving on to Bayern Munich. He scored the winner of the World Cup final in Brazil and is one of the most sought out players in Europe at the moment.

It will not be easy to land him for Liverpool but if they are able to pull it off, it might be their best signature in a very long time.
