Confirmed: Manchester United star to leave this January on a free deal
Manchester United have agreed on a deal with Spanish goalkeeper Victor Valdes for the player to finally leave the club on a free transfer this January.
The ex-Barcelona shot stopper came to England as a backup for David de Gea but has ever since been unsettled at the club. The 33-year old apparently refused to train with the Under-21s and was alienated from the rest of the team even on match days.
The world cup winner is completely out of favor at the Old Trafford and was keen on a move away from the club in the summer.
The last moment move to a Turkish side fell out and Valdes has ever since failed to make even a single appearance for the Red Devils and is now keen on ending his nightmare stint in England.
The £60,000-a-week star is eager to get back to playing regularly and it appears that after a meeting his with representatives, Manchester United have agreed to terminate his contract.
According to Daily Star, the player will now leave the club in January and his representatives are already looking for a new club.
Reports also announced that Spanish side Celta Vigo are keen on acquiring the signature of the shot stopper and are long-term suitors for Valdes.
Louis van Gaal has been under tremendous pressure since the start of the season and with average performances recently is also speculated to leave the club and be replaced by Pep Guardiola who is keen on a move to England.
Whatever the results may be, Valdes looks set to leave the club before the end of the transfer season.
