Zlatan even before playing breaks his first record at Old Trafford 1

The Premier League this season is set to attract a lot of interest from some of the best players all over Europe.

But the biggest transfer yet this summer has surely been the Swede from Paris Saint-Germain.

Zlatan Ibrahimovic, who announced his retirement from international football after his team knocked out of the EUROs in France recently announced that his next destination was the English Premier League club Manchester United.

Jose Mourinho, who took over the club from Louis van Gaal is said to have played a part in pursuing him to move to Old Trafford and this move has made the Red Devils one of the strongest in the league if not Europe.

The 34-year old agreed on a one-year contract with the club and is expected to have a great time in a league that suits his style of play.

His experience all over Europe will also help him dominate the opponents in the final third and it increasingly looks like he will break some records in his debut season in England.

However, even before a kick of the ball, Zlatan has broken a record at Manchester United.

Though it is a vague calculation, Manchester United’s medical team revealed that Zlatan broke the medical records set by any player to have played for the club over the years.

“Making history already,” the club tweeted. “We can confirm Zlatan broke #mufc power records during his medical.”

Here is the tweet:

It is not an exact science but it does not come as a surprise that Zlatan has broken a record in the Premier League in just a week since his move.

The club will be overjoyed that the Swede chose to play at Old Trafford and will hope that he can break more and more records on his way to lifting the Red Devils to the top of Europe.

Manchester United’s week just keeps getting better.

After Zlatan, United seem to be closing in on Borussia Dortmund midfielder Henrikh Mkhitaryan as Jose Mourinho continued to strengthen his squad for the next season.

Though no official announcement is made, it is understood that the midfielder is not too far away from a medical at the club.

Do you think these signings will help United into the top-4 of the Premier League points table next season?
