Manchester United star Zlatan Ibrahimovic reckons Paris Saint-Germain are still obsessed with him.
Zlatan Ibrahimovic joined Manchester United on a free from the French giants last summer, and has excelled under Jose Mourinho this term, weighing in with 24 goals in all competitions.
The superstar Swede was a huge hit during his time at the Parc des Princes, netting 113 times in 122 appearances and won four league titles on the trot. His former club registered a stunning 4-0 win over Barcelona in the first leg of their last-16 Champions League tie.
And it certainly made Ibrahimovic take notice, as he told Swedish paper Sportbladet: “It was a good match.
“Of course, of course, I wish them well. I have been at the club, after all.”
More intriguingly, the 35-year-old thinks the club will still talk about him regardless of how they do.
He added: “When they win, people talk about me and when they lose, people talk about me.
“They will always talk about me.”
Ibrahimovic will be hoping to lift his first major piece of silverware for United on Sunday when they take on Southampton in the EFL Cup final.
United beat Northampton, Manchester City, West Ham and Hull City to reach this stage, while Soton boss Claude Puel – in his first season in English football – masterminded victories over Crystal Palace, Sunderland, Arsenal and Liverpool all without conceding a goal.
It is a first final appearance for Southampton in this competition since 1979, where they lost to Brian Clough’s all-conquering Nottingham Forest, while United are gearing up for their 10th outing and aiming for a fifth win.
