Englishman Justin Rose has become the World number one player in the latest Golf Rankings. Rose who ended as the second best player in the recently concluded BMW Championship, has taken the summit position in the table.
Rose lost a playoff against American Keegan Bradley in suburban Philadelphia. However, he was able to get to the pinnacle of the rankings despite the loss. Meanwhile, Justin Rose is the Olympic Gold Medallist of the Rio Games in 2016.
Justin Rose moved to the No. 1 ranking in the world ahead of Dustin Johnson. Therefore, he became the 22nd player to reach the numero uno spot since the ranking began in 1986.
Rose said it is an amazing feeling to get to the number one rank.
“That’s an amazing achievement, something I’m extraordinarily proud of,” the Englishman said in a greenside interview after getting to the top of the tree.
Meanwhile, Justin Rose said he would have like to reach the number one position by winning the BMW Championship. However, he is still happy to get to the number one rank.
“I would love to have got there by winning… Delighted to be world number one. It’s (the stuff of) boyhood dreams.”
Justin Rose has won PGA Tour on nine occasions. In fact, Rose generally plays in the PGA tours. He also went on to won the major in the 2013 US Open.
Consequently, Rose will be one of the most prominent players who will play be part of the European team against United Staes of America in the upcoming Ryder Cup which will commence later in the month.
