ToggleRoyal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) have announced the replacements for the injured players England’s Reece Topley and Madhya Pradesh’s Rajat Patidar on April 7, 2023. South Africa’s Wayne Parnell and Karnataka’s Rajat Patidar will join the team shortly.
RCB have played two games thus far in the tournament and while they routed Mumbai Indians (MI) in their home in Bengaluru in their opening game, they were most recently mauled by Kolkata Knight Riders, who handed them an 81-run loss at Eden Gardens.
However, in their opening match in Bengaluru, England fast bowler Reece Topley dislocated his right shoulder while diving to stop a ball and as a result was ruled out of the remainder of IPL 2023. He will be returning to England for treatment.

On the other hand, Rajat Patidar had hurt his Achilles heel ahead of joining the RCB training camp and despite treatment, he failed to recover from his injury.
Reece Topley Replaced By Wayne Parnell And Vyashak Vijay Kumar Comes In For Rajat Patidar, RCB Announces
Royal Challengers Bangalore (RCB) on Thursday named Wayne Parnell and Vyshak Vijay Kumar as replacements for the injured Reece Topley and Rajat Patidar respectively for the remainder of the TATA Indian Premier League (IPL) 2023.
Wayne Parnell joins RCB at INR 75 lakhs and has previously played in IPL, for now, defunct Pune Warriors side from 2011 to 2013 and then represented Delhi Capitals (previously Daredevils) in 2014. He played 26 matches in the IPL, taking 26 wickets. Overall, he has played 257 T20s, taking 259 wickets and scoring 1887 runs.

On the other hand, Karnataka all-rounder Vyashak Vijay Kumar has played 31 matches across formats for Karnataka since 2021. He has taken 22 wickets in 14 matches in the Syed Mushtaq Ali Trophy over the last two seasons and has been bought by Royal Challengers for INR 20 lakh.
RCB will next face Lucknow Super Giants (LSG) in Bengaluru on April 10th.
