Not every son follows in his father’s footsteps no matter how successful the latter is.

Actor R Madhavan’s son, Vedaant is one of those handfuls of sons. And one can say Vedaant is well on his way to creating his legacy.

The 12-year old star kid, on Monday (April 9) won a bronze medal for India in an international swim meet in Thailand. Madhavan himself took to social media to share the news. The celebrated actor shared a picture of himself along with his son holding his medal and certificate.

“Proud moment for Sarita and I as Vedaant wins his first medal for India in an international swim meet in Thailand today. Thank you for all your blessings,” he wrote.

The 47-year old also shared a video of Vedaant getting the medal along with the other winners.

Here is Madhavan’s post celebrating his son’s success:

One of the most successful actors in South Indian movies, Madhavan has carved his niche in Bollywood. He received widespread praise for his acting in super hit movies like Rehnaa Hai Terre Dil Mein, Three Idiots and others.

He is currently recovering from a shoulder injury. Due to the injury, he had to opt out of Ranveer Singh’s much-anticipated film Simmba.

“Hey, folks. So, I am a huge crazy fan of Rohit Shetty and his films. As is my son. It breaks both our hearts that I’m not able to be a part of this film because of my injury. I’m well on my way to recovery, but this is a huge opportunity and excitement lost,” he had tweeted.

Well, Madhavan will be delighted that his son is making his mark in a field which is very different from his. And we wish the teenager all the luck in the world that he succeeds in his future endeavours.
