After clinching a Gold and a Bronze in archery earlier today, Shooter Chain Singh won bronze medal in Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions in Asian Games 2014. Chain Singh finished with the total of 441.7 points in the Men’s 50m Rifle 3 Positions finals at Okryeon International Shooting Range that is proving to be happy hunting ground for India in terms of winning majority of medals in shooting. China’s Yifei Cao got the gold medal with 455.5 points while Qinan Zhu came second with 455.2 points. Indian shooters have done reasonable well here in Incheon, despite not meeting expectations in terms of gold.
This is India’s third medal of the day with atleast four more expected to come. Day 8 of the 17th edition of Asian Games also saw the second gold medal after Jitu Rai’s gold in 50m air pistol coming from the archers in compound team event while the women bagged bronze in the same event. With the addition of three medals so far on Day 8, India’s medal tally moved to 20 including 2 gold, 2 silver and 16 bronze.
