Even during the hard times, he did not step down as the captain of the team and relinquished it only after being convinced of Kohli’s ability to lead the side and the man is now finding himself in a similar situation.
His struggles with the bat that has coincided with Rishabh Pant’s extraordinary exploits in the domestic circuit and the Indian Premier League. Pant’s Delhi Daredevils teammate Sanju Samson is another youngster who is highly-rated and is seen as the future star of Indian cricket.
Both the youngsters are raring to make a mark at the highest stage of the game and it might convince Dhoni to walk away in order to make room for them.
