Taking the responsibility ahead of Yuvraj in the World Cup final:
MS Dhoni also helped India to their first 50 over World Cup in more the 25 years with his superb knock in Mumbai in 2011.
With close to 300 needed for Victory, India had a good start with Gautam Gabhir standing strong. But a couple of quick wickets in the middle saw the Sri Lankans take the advantage in the game. However, the Indian skipper promoted himself ahead of Yuvraj Singh and stuck into the bowling lineup as he scored a valuable 90 odd to take his team to a World Cup victory.
Yuvraj did play his part at the end but Dhoni’s masterstroke to come ahead of the big hitter paid fruitful dividends at the end.
