However, sports was not the only interesting thing at the recently concluded Olympics. 7. Adelinde Cornelissen dropped out of the Olympics after her horse got badly injured:
The Dutch Dressage rider set an example for every athlete after she bowed out of the Olympics mid-event to protect her horse, who had fallen ill. Cornelissen said the problem with her 19-year-old horse, who won individual silver and team bronze at London 2012, was believed to stem from a bite from a mosquito or a spider.
