India wicketkeeper-batsman Wriddhiman Saha has shared a discomforting chat with a journalist as he was threatened after the 37-year old didn’t give him an interview. Saha took to Twitter to share the screenshot of the conversation.

“After all of my contributions to Indian cricket..this is what I face from a so called “Respected” journalist! This is where the journalism has gone,” Wriddhiman Saha tweeted.

In the conversation, the journalist threatened Saha that he would remember this ‘insult’ and he would never interview him again.

Notable Wriddhiman Saha was among 4 veteran players who were dropped from the squad for the 2-match Test series against Sri Lanka starting on March 4 as the selectors also dropped Cheteshwar Pujara, Ajinkya Rahane, and Ishant Sharma.

Rahane and Pujara are participating in the first round of the Ranji Trophy. Rahane scored a hundred, while Pujara also a quickfire 83-ball 93 after getting out on a duck in the first innings. However, Ishant Sharma and Wriddhiman Saha were not available for the first round.

When Chetan Sharma was asked about Saha’s omission from the squad, he said, “Look, age isn’t something we give a lot of credence. On what grounds Wriddhi has been dropped, we can’t tell you.”

“But there comes a time when you start thinking about youngsters when you don’t play for long. Also, I don’t know why Saha is not playing Ranji Trophy. That’s not my jurisdiction and that’s what state unit must look into,” he further added.

The last time Saha played a test match, was in December last year when Rishabh Pant was rested for the 2-match Test series against New Zealand at home.

Saha overall played 40 Tests as he scored 1353 runs with an average of 29.41 with 3 hundreds and 6 fifties. He also caused 104 dismissals behind the stump which included 12 stumping as well. Saha made his Test debut against South Africa in Nagpur in 2010. He also played 9 ODIs for India.

In the IPL mega auction, Gujarat Titans bagged him for 1.9 Crores.
