WWE RAW roster member and one of the prime superstars of today’s WWE, AJ Styles has reportedly suffered a left-arm injury during the 30-Man Royal Rumble main event on Sunday at Minute Maid Park in Houston, Texas. This caused a slight change in the match happening as it had to go off the script resulting in the early elimination of the former WWE Champion from the Rumble match.

As seen in the match, AJ Styles entered the Rumble match at #18 and became the #17 elimination. The returning WWE Hall of Famer Edge at the #21 spot appeared to be his eliminator. The injury has reportedly occurred right before that elimination, according to PWInsider.com. Edge was forced to go off-script due to this and eliminate The Phenomenal One to protect him.

During the match, Edge had face-offs with a number of wrestlers that created some of the Royal Rumble moments that included WWE RAW Superstar AJ Styles. Edge delivered his pendant Spear on Styles who landed badly on his shoulders. The veteran wrestler was only trying to sell the spear in a devastating way but the hard landing said to have ruptured his arm.

AJ Styles was hurt during this spot and Edge had to eliminate Styles early from the match, to ensure that he spends less time in the match which could worsen his injury. Here’s more from a report by wrestlingINC.com,

“Styles came back up from the Spear, holding his left arm, and it appeared to be dangling. A referee stepped up onto the apron to communicate with Edge and Styles was tossed out right after that communication. Styles was then tended to by WWE officials and medics at ringside right after his elimination.”

Following this incident, AJ Styles was spotted in the backstage area after the match, with the injured arm heavily wrapped up and ice on it.

As per WWE norms, he would be undergoing tests on Monday Night RAW so that the officials could determine the severity of the injury. Only then, it will be known how much time-off he needs to get healed. We hope he’d be doing okay and ready for the WrestleMania 36 season.
