In his first ever entry in Web.com Tour Golf tournament in Fort Wayne USA Indian ace Golfer Anirban Lahiri held sole second position after the third round of the Hotel Fitness Championship tournament on Sunday the 13th September 2015. With this, he stays within striking distance of his maiden title in the United States.
He started the third round with a bogey and carding 70, but closed disappointingly with a double bogey to be three behind the leader, Korea’s D H Lee (66). He is now 12-under 204 for 54 holes as against Lees 15-under 201. They go out and play together in the final pairing today. After the second round, Anirban appeared to be just trying to hang in there.
It was a grinding day and very hard for him as he was hitting all over the shop. But everything is not lost as he is just 3 behind the leader. If he can put another good 18 holes together today he can win the title. He needs to get over the line. All Indian Golf lovers will pray for him and I am sure he will do his best win his maiden title in USA.
On the other side at the inaugural Thongchal Jaidee Foundation tournament in Hua Hin India’s Himmat Rai carded over 73 and slipped from 13th position after third round to finish joint 29th. He ended with 275 after 72, 69 and 67 at the end of third round. Another Indian Chiragh was placed 42nd in the same tournament.
