England, on Thursday (February 2), announced their squads for the upcoming tour of Bangladesh. The Three Lions are scheduled to play three ODIs and as many T20Is against the Bangla Tigers next month. England have called up uncapped Tom Abell and Rehan Ahmed in their ODI and T20I squads for the BAN vs ENG series.
Abell is currently in Sri Lanka with England Lions where he is set to captain the side in an upcoming one-day series. He is expected to join the senior side on March 1 in Dhaka. The 28-year-old has scored 649 runs at 30.90 in 26 List A appearances. In T20s, he has scored 1,771 runs at a strike rate of 142.26 in 75 outings.

As far as Ahmed is concerned, while he is new to white-ball in international cricket, he has already made his Test debut. The 18-year old grabbed the headlines in December after taking a five-for on his Test debut against Pakistan. At present, he is in the UAE representing Gulf Giants in the ILT20.
Star batsman Joe Root has once again failed to find a spot in the ODI team. Along with him, Ben Stokes has not been included in the T20I squad either for the BAN vs ENG series. The other notable absentees are Liam Livingstone, Jonny Bairstow, Harry Brook and Alex Hales.
Hales decided to give the tour a miss in order to play in the Pakistan Super League. Meanwhile, Saqib Mahmood has found a place in the ODI squad as he gears up for a return to international cricket following the back injury he suffered last May.

Jofra Archer has been named in both the squads after making his much-awaited return to international cricket through the recently-concluded ODI series against South Africa. England’s tour of Bangladesh will begin with a three-match ODI series, starting on March 1, before three T20s from March 9.
