Barcelona managed to become the first club to score 100 league goals in the ongoing season across the top five leagues after an impressive Javier Mascherano’s penalty against Osasuna on Wednesday.

The 100th goal of the season have remarkably also become Mascherano’s first ever penalty for Barcelona in his 319th appearance for the club and surely the remarkable day for the Catalans as the Blaugrana have won the game quite comfortably  at 7-1.

Lionel Messi, who has thrashed Real Madrid in El Classico, have continued his fine form as he took his Barcelona goal tally to a mind boggling 502 after reaching the magical 500 mark against Real Madrid in the weekend.

The result also means Barcelona are able to keep up with Real Madrid although their bitter rivals still have an extra game in hand. Even Real Madrid have had a great Wednesday after coming out on top in their 6-2 win with a second string team against Deportivo.

The Blaugrana will now look to win all their remaining games in the league and hope that Real Madrid slip in one of the games which could pave way for Barcelona to continue their dominance on the Spanish league. They will also look to win Copa Del Rey after reaching finals as a domestic double would be an ideal way to give a proper send off to Luis Enrique who has brought the club back to their prime form in his three year spell at Camp Nou.

Meanwhile, Real Madrid will need to fight for Champions League after qualifying for Semifinals as they are set to face their cross city rivals Atletico Madrid as the tie could prove tricky to the reigning champions which could also have its effect for a slip up in the league over the next couple of weeks.
