Becky Lynch Speaks On What’s Next For Her After WWE Wrestlemania 36 Win
Becky Lynch made history at WrestleMania 36 by retaining her Women’s Championship against Shayna Baszler. It was a historic win by all means as she is the only woman in WWE history to win a title at WrestleMania, then carry it throughout a year and then successfully defend it, in the next edition of WrestleMania. It just shows how dominant The Man has been.
However, her title retention did not come without controversy as many consider the win as a fluke, the way the pinfall took place. Becky Lynch reversed a Kirifuda Clutch from Shayna Baszler flipped the hold for a surprise pin as the latter’s shoulders went down. The former NXT Women’s Champion was left puzzled the way the sequence ended as she could not answer the three counts of the referee.
Becky Lynch was interviewed backstage after the WrestleMania match when she dropped a hint about whether the finish could have lengthened the feud. The Raw Women’s Champion was asked about her victory over Baszler, she said that the match was about skill over heart, and she has got the heart.
The promo continued as Becky Lynch noted what could be next for her as she has now overcome the toughest challenge waiting on her way. The current champion said that if Shayna has a problem with the finish of their match, she knows where to find her,
“Well, Shayna has a problem. She thinks she has my number, she certainly doesn’t,” said Becky. “But if she has a problem with that finish tonight just tell her to not go missing. She knows where to find me. I’ll be holding down the fort. Every single week.”
These comments from Lynch suggested that the feud between these Becky Lynch and Shayna Baszler is not over, yet. Probably this is why WWE conducted a lame ending to the match so that the storyline could be resumed on Raw, moving forward.
It would be really interesting to see if the creative team decides to continue with the ongoing angle when Raw airs with the very next episode.
There’s also a chance that this development could eventually bring back Ronda Rousey into the context after a long hiatus as she is the best friend of Shayna Baszler who has unfinished business with Becky Lynch. But there’s no update available on this comeback, yet.
