The world of sport has once again been hit by the work of Terrorism! Or at least it seems, from the latest reports from Dortmund.
The German outfit was preparing themselves for the quarter-final tie against French giant AS Monaco at the Signal Iduna Park today.
But the game has currently been postponed because the team bus was hit by an explosion before the start of the game.
A statement from local police said: “In the run-up to the Champions League match of BVB against AS Monaco, there was an explosion near the BVB team bus shortly after 7 pm. The location of the event is Wittbräuckerstraße/Schirrmannweg in Dortmund-Höchsten.

“According to current knowledge the windows of the bus (whole or partial) were shattered and one person was injured. It is not yet possible to say exactly what the explosion was or exactly where something exploded.”
Though it is believed that there were no injuries a couple of reports suggested that Spanish star Marc Bartra was hit by a shattered window and had to be rushed to the hospital.
The official twitter handle of the German outfit tweeted:
“At our bus departure, an incident has occurred. One person was injured. More information to follow,” it read.

A later tweet read: “Bomb explosion on the team bus at the team hotel. Players in security. No danger at the stadium. More information to follow.”
In early reports from German newspaper Bild, an explosive was tied on the street in front of the bus which exploded when it was full with the players.
However, the police in Germany are yet to release an official press statement.
And it is reported now that the game has been postponed for tomorrow along with the Real Madrid v Bayern Munich Atletico Madrid v Leicester games.
Here is the official statement:
#bvbasm has just been postponed until Wednesday, 12 April 1845 CET. Tickets remain valid. Thanks to everyone involved in the decision.
