German champions Bayern Munich are currently leading the race for Lyon midfielder Corentin Tolisso, according to reports in France.
The 22-year old is drawing interest from a number of big clubs across Europe which include Chelsea, Juventus, Manchester City and Tottenham. However, according to French media outlet L’Equipe, the Frenchman is keen to move to Bayern Munich over other clubs.
Tolisso joined Lyon in 2007 and came through their youth ranks before making his senior debut in 2013. He has now grown into one of the most versatile midfielders in Europe while playing for French club. He managed an impressive 47 appearances last season and have scored 14 goals during the campaign.
Chelsea manager Antonio Conte will be dealt with another blow if the French international decides to make a move to Allianz Arena as the Blues are ready to splash £35million to sign him. The Blues already have plenty of problems in the ongoing transfer window as Diego Costa have revealed publicly that he will be looking on his future after a row with the Italian manager.
The London Blues have had an incredible season under Antonio Conte in his first season as they won the Premier League and have reached the finals of FA Cup. However, the team needs to add more quality as they will be playing in the Champions League next season and will need to increase depth in their roster.
Meanwhile, Bayern Munich are also looking to spend big this summer as they need to replace retired stars Xabi Alonso and Philipp Lahm. The German giants are looking for a potential midfield signing and Tolisso would be an ideal option for the club as he can play in numerous positions.
Tolisso primarily plays in central midfield but can also play as a defensive midfielder and right back based on the team’s needs. It would be a huge loss for Chelsea as Conte have so far failed to make major signings in his first summer windows so far.
However, Chelsea have also shortlisted quite a number of other midfield targets and are considered favorites to sign Everton midfielder Idrissa Gueye.
