Chelsea midfielder Cesc Fabregas became the first player ever to assist ten or more goals in six different seasons in the Premier League era.
The Spaniard has been in great form in the limited opportunities he had with the Blues. In yet another good season, Fabregas has managed to rake up 10 Premier League assists to his name as he can truly be considered as one of the greatest players to have played in Premier League era.
Chelsea has inched closer to the title after their 3-0 win against Boro in the weekend as a win in their next match would confirm them as the new Premier League champions. It has been a remarkable turnaround for the Blues under Antonio Conte this season as they have finished at 10th position last season.
Diego Costa opened the scoring for Chelsea on the night before Marcos Alonso doubled it. Cesc Fabregas has produced a great pass to Matic to make it 3-0. The assist made him become the first player ever to assist ten or more goals in six different seasons in Premier League.
Fabregas had previously played for Arsenal for eight seasons before moving to Barcelona. However, he made a return to Premier League under Jose Mourinho in 2014 after signing for Chelsea. Fabregas is only next to Kevin de Bruyne, Christian Eriksen and Sigurdsson in the assist charts and it can be considered as a remarkable feat considering the limited chances he got to play this season under Conte.

Speaking before their 3-0 win over Boro, Fabregas said:
‘We have to do our job: play very well to beat a Middlesbrough side who want to stay in the league. It will be tough.
‘We have to be on top of our game today. Winning would mean a lot to the team and the club. Hopefully, we can do that.’
