Chelsea Complete Move For Manchester City's Outcast Goalkeeper Willy Caballero 1

Argentine goalkeeper Willy Caballero is close to making a move to Stamford Bridge after agreeing personal terms and passing medical, according to reports.

The 35-year old played a key role for Manchester City when called upon by Pep Guardiola last season but the club had decided against giving Caballero a new deal. He will now move to their direct rivals Chelsea on a free transfer in the coming days.

Caballero will become the No.2 at Stamford Bridge as a deputy to their star goalie Thibaut Courtois. He will also be Blues’ first signing for the summer as Antonio Conte is facing yet another frustrating transfer window.

He will be replacing former goalkeeper Asmir Begovic who left the club in search of more playing time. Caballero would be a valuable squad player for Chelsea next season, as he had produced some fine displays for Manchester City over the years and his previous club Malaga.

According to Daily Mail, the shot stopper also had offers from newly promoted Premier League clubs Newcastle and Brighton but he is edging closer to a Chelsea move after passing the medical at Stamford Bridge.

Antonio Conte is in the market to strengthen his squad as he is looking for various options in attack, midfield as well as defense. However, the Italian has failed to land any player so far despite being linked with numerous player.

The Blues are looking to sign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku in an attempt to bring him back to Stamford Bridge next season, especially after Conte-Costa fall out. Everton are still evaluating their price as they look determined to keep Lukaku.

They are also linked with £60million move for Juventus left-back Alex Sandro, who is arguably top three left backs in the world at the moment. Sandro had a dream season and is looking to only make more progress in the years to come.

Meanwhile, Pep Guardiola have plenty of options for his goalkeeping position despite losing Willy Caballero for free. The Spaniard signed highly rated Benfica goalkeeper Ederson in a £35m deal and also Joe Hart will be returning to the club.

The Englishman could be on his way out this summer but still the club has two good goalkeepers in their roster.
