Chelsea striker Diego Costa has revealed that he could on his way out from Stamford Bridge in the summer window despite the transfer ban on Spanish giants Atletico Madrid.
The Spaniard has recently leaked the text exchange between him and manager Antonio Conte to the media and other Chelsea players. The Italian manager had told the 28-year old that he is no longer in his plans.
The news meant that there has been plenty of interest from numerous clubs across Europe and also from China as his price has come down considerably with his situation at Stamford Bridge.
The move made by the player means Chelsea will now need to sign a new striker with them lining up a record bid to resign Everton striker Romelu Lukaku whom they let go few years ago.
However, the situation of Costa is perplexed at the moment as he cannot make a move back to his home club Atletico Madrid and a move away from Chelsea looked highly unlikely.
But the talented striker has not ruled out the chance of leaving on loan to another club before making a dream return to his home team in January.
Speaking after Spain’s 2-1 win over Macedonia, Costa said: “It is up to Chelsea to decide what to do with me, otherwise I will find the best possible team for me to play for.”
“Atlético is one of these teams. If I sign for Atlético it doesn’t mean that I won’t be able to play, I can still be loaned to another team weather it is Spain, Italy, Brazil or wherever it may be,” he told Onda Cero.
“The important thing is to play. I care a lot for Atlético and I will continue to care for them very much whether I join them or another team. If I want to be selected for the World Cup I can’t move to China.”
Costa is currently not interested in a move to China despite massive offers and could be keen to move to Italian giants AC Milan, who are very much interested in signing him.
He might move to Serie A on a temporary move before making a return to Madrid. The loss of Diego Costa could hurt Chelsea next season as they will be contesting against top teams in Champions League and Lukaku is not proven striker in Europe’s top tier tournament so far.
