The Story
The bits and parts of the life of former hockey skipper Sandeep Singh will be soon brought to the silver screen. Director Shaad Ali will be at the helm of the project while two very well-known names – singer turned actor Diljit Dosanjh and Taapsee Pannu – will take up the lead roles in the hockey based movie.
It is being understood that a significant part of the movie will revolve around the story of Sandeep Singh and his sporting journey along with tweaking to quit a wider range of audience.
Not a biopic
Director Shaad Ali has revealed that the upcoming flick isn’t a biopic but will just explore a major chapter of Sandeep’s life to be portrayed Diljit. The film will be a love story of two hockey players and the story revolved around their relationship. The exact details are yet to be known.
Sandeep Singh, the best Indian drag flicker of modern times, has already agreed to lend his helping hand in getting Taapsee and Diljit prepare for the role.
The duo will go through extensive training and learn essential hockey playing before starting the shooting for the film in Punjab in October.
Diljit Dosanjh has made a giant leap into Bollywood after having a successful career as singer/producer. He made his Bollywood debut with Udta Punjab last year and currently has multiple projects with him.
Apart from co-starring with Taapsee, Dosanjh will also bee is seen sharing the screen space with Sonakshi Sinha. He also has bagged another opportunity to work with another his Phillauri co-star Anushka Sharma. The movie is titled Kaneda.
On the other hand, Taapsee is currently preparing for the release of Judwaa 2; the much talked about the sequel of the Salman Khan starer of the same name released 1997.
The movie will release on September 29 and stars Varun Dhawan and Jacqueline Fernandez alongside Taapsee. It has been reported that the actress will commence shooting for the Shaad Ali movie right away after wrapping up the promotional works of Judwaa 2.
