Former England white-ball captain Eoin Morgan has announced his retirement from all forms of cricket. Eoin Morgan, who captained England to victory in the 2019 50-over World Cup has announced his retirement from cricket and revealed plans to become a full-time pundit and commentator.

“After much deliberation, I believe now is the right time to step away from the game that has given me so much over the years” the 36-year-old posted on his official Twitter handle. Last year, World Cup-winning captain Morgan announced his retirement from international cricket owing to his poor form.

“Thanks to cricket, I have been able to travel the world and meet incredible people, many of whom I have developed lifelong friendships with.

“I will undoubtedly miss the adventure and challenges of playing professional cricket.” he wrote on his social media handle. Eoin Morgan brought in the aggressive brand of cricket with the England Cricket team

Former England Skipper Morgan is impressed by the current approach of the England test team and is termed by one word: Bazball. Though Morgan does not play red-ball cricket anymore, he credited the Ben Stokes-Brendon McCullum takeover with producing “some of the best Test match series I’ve ever watched in my life”

According to Espncricinfo, Morgan said England has played Test Cricket in the T20 fashion which provided terrific entertainment for the spectators and the Ben Stokes lead team is proving that it is possible to play in the same fashion at any part of the world

“What England has proved this year [2022] is that you can play Test cricket in that [T20] fashion, It’s made for unbelievable entertainment. It’s created a new level of interest and proved that you don’t have to play Test cricket one way, particularly as a batter, which for, I suppose the 150 years, has always been one way.”

“They are proving that it’s possible to play like this anywhere,” Morgan said. “One of the sad things is that people continue to question it but they’ve gone undefeated using the same mantra and it’s brilliant.” Morgan Further added
