West Ham United are going into Saturday’s match against Hull having failed to win in any of their last seven away matches while also failing to score in five of their last seven away games. Looking at the table, Hull are sitting above West Ham in 11th place on seven points having won two and drawn one while scoring five and allowing seven goals. West Ham are below them in 15th place on five points with four scored and four allowed.
Two of West Ham’s goals scored came in their home 2-3 loss to Everton. Hull was able to overcome Newcastle United and came away with a 3-2 away win. As far as form goes, Hull City are in better form than West Ham having played well against Manchester City, despite losing, drawing against Cardiff then beating Newcastle. West Ham have had two dour draws and two disappointing losses.
What to expect from the Match
Only Arsenal and Manchester City have been more clinical in front of goal than Hull (15.6% conversion rate) this season. West Ham are the only team to have seen all their goals scored by English players in the Barclays Premier League this season and the only team yet to concede a goal in the opening hour of games this season.
Hull have won 55%, drawn 25% and lost 20% of their last 20 home games, having kept a clean sheet in 50% and failing to score in 25% of those games. West Ham have won 15%, drawn 30% and lost 55% of their last 20 away games, having kept a clean sheet in 35% and failing to score in 50% of those games.
Players to watch out for
SoneAluko(Hull City):The striker has been leading the line for the Tigers, and has outshone summer arrival Danny Graham in the goal-scoring department. He will be man that the team will be looking towards to get them the goals, and the three points.
Matt Jarvis(West Ham):The winger has not been able to live up to the hype that surrounded his arrival to the London club this summer. With the World Cup coming up, and a slot in the squad up for grabs, Jarvis will undoubtedly look to put in performances worthy of the ticket to Brazil come June.
Predicted Starting line ups
Hull City: The Tigers are in the middle of a defensive crisis at the moment. James Chester (hamstring), Maynor Figueroa (personal), Paul McShane (knock), Joe Dudgeon (knock), Robert Koren (foot) and Mohammed Nagy (fitness) are all out and Tom Huddlestone may feature in defense against West Ham.
West Ham:JoeCole, Stewart Downing and Andy Carroll are all out injured while Mark Noble is suspended following his red card in the match against Everton.ModiboMaiga is expected to start upfront.
Predictions
My prediction is for a draw, but would favor Hull City for the win between the two. It is a match that should be an interesting one and there could be plenty of goals in it looking at the past matches these two teams have played.
Hull City 2-2 West Ham United
