Since the latest brand split, Backlash probably came out with the least most anticipated pay per view match card. Some jobbers suddenly been elevated into the title pictures, one of them got the main event. They tried to present them as great forces but did the push actually worked?
Shinsuke Nakamura made his main roster debut two nights after WrestleMania. But he did not compete in any match in the main roster yet. Dolph Ziggler was announced to be the first opponent for Nakamura in the main roster but unlike Breezango and Jinder Mahal, Ziggler was not been shown as a strong force.
Now you might say that Ziggler is a former World Heavyweight champion, so they did not have to build him strong differently. But if you look closely, they actually did, and here is why; Ziggler is seen as a lower mid card from quite a long time, people thought a heel turn might save him, but it could not. He kept losing to Apollo Crews and Kalisto quite a while ago. He is not even a mid card right now, he is an undercard. They will build Nakamura as the top star of Smackdown, and for that, his first victory needed to look special.
We are finally seeing Nakamura in action on the main roster. It has been over a month since Nakamura came into the main roster. But he was not been booked in any match since then. They hyped Nakamura’s first main roster match really well.
But how good would it be? Every time Nakamura got a match at NXT he did some amazing job. Can he do the same on the main roster? It depends on the booking time he gets. Here is our take on this match; we think they should give this match at least a fifteen minutes booking and it should never be a squash for Nakamura. Not all the fans watch NXT, so everyone should get to know what ‘The Artist Known As Shinsuke Nakamura’ is capable of. The first impression is really important.
