Fabregas And Willian To Start: 3-4-3 Chelsea Predicted Lineup For The Dead Rubber Against Sunderland 1

Antonio Conte’s Chelsea have managed to lift the domestic title with more than a game to spare making their last couple of games dead rubbers. And they go into the last game, a game with no consequence whatsoever. The Blues, who are at the top of the table, will welcome 20th placed Sunderland to the Stamford Bridge in the final game of the season.

With both teams at different ends of the table, there is only one winner in this game but with Chelsea having an eye on the FA Cup final, they might field a weaker side, giving Sunderland a sniff. The Black Cats will want to finish the season on a high but will have to be at their best to take anything from the home of the Champions. Here is the predicted lineup Conte might field for this tie:

Team News:

Ruben Loftus-Cheek remains the only absentee for Chelsea going into this game.

Expected lineup (3-4-3):

Defense:

The manager made a number of changes to his first team in the previous game and is expected to do the same this weekend. Thibaut Courtois, though fit, is nursing an ankle injury and should be rested, giving Asmir Begovic another chance on goal.

Kurt Zouma has been solid at the back and should keep his place on the right side of the defence while Nathan Ake, who was also decent, should play as the left-sided centre-back in this tie. Skipper John Terry is expected to start at the heart of the defence, giving first team players a much-deserved rest.

Midfield:

Nemanja Matic has been a mainstay in the first team this season and should start yet again for Chelsea. He has been solid and will hope to have an easy game. N Golo Kante started the previous game coming back from an injury but he might be rested ahead of the FA Cup final, giving Cesc Fabregas a start in this tie.

Victor Moses has been superb at the right wing-back role and should keep his place while Marcos Alonso, who has been rested recently should start on the left wing.

Attack:

Michy Batshuayi started the last two games for Chelsea but Conte might be tempted to give Costa a run out in the middle before the domestic cup finals. He might lead the attack for his side on the night.

Eden Hazard is an important player for Chelsea and he also might get an hour of play in this game against Sunderland. Pedro has been decent but Brazilian winger Willian is expected to start alongside Hazard on the night.

Here is how they would line up:
