FIFA To Monitor Greece Body's Operations After Elections 1

Zurich, July 26 (IANS) World football’s governing body FIFA on Wednesday announced the setting up of a committee to monitor the operations of the Hellenic Football Federation (HFF).

The world soccer governing body said that the mission of the committee will start after the Greek FA elections, scheduled for August 18, and will last for at least one year, reports Efe.

“The monitoring committee will have the mandate to monitor the implementation of the revised HFF Statutes and the overall situation of the HFF including the budgeting and finance, to report on and issue recommendations on the functioning of the HFF, and to monitor actions taken as a result of its recommendations,” FIFA said in a statement.

The committee will give an update to FIFA and UEFA at least every two months, the international federation added.

In the last months, FIFA has been monitoring the Greek soccer federation through a committee after some long-running disputes, and will continue to keep an eye on their operations after the elections.
