First Title Match For WWE Super ShowDown Confirmed On SmackDown 1

WWE will return to the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia to host the first global pay-per-view event of 2020 on Thursday, February 27. It is being dubbed as Super ShowDown which will air live on the WWE Network from King Fahd International Stadium in Riyadh. A number of huge matchups will be declared in due course as the card started to fill in from last night’s Super SmackDown episode.

The special edition of the Friday Night show aired from the BOK Center in Tulsa, Oklahoma had a huge fatal-4-way match in-store with a Super ShowDown stipulation added to it. The winner was declared to get an opportunity to the SmackDown Tag Team Championships at the grand night waiting in Saudi Arabia, later this month. It was considered to be a big shot for the winners at a time when the Road to WrestleMania 36 has officially begun.

As seen on the show, The Miz and John Morrison squared off against Lucha House Party (Gran Metallik and Kalisto), The Revival (Dash Wilder and Scott Dawson) and Heavy Machinery (Tucker Knight and Otis Dojovic) to pick up the big win. They are now entitled to compete in the first match declared for Super ShowDown 2020 set in the middle-east country, as per the confirmations by WWE.com.

The Miz and John Morrison have been feuding with The New Day for the past several weeks which already kept them in a favorite spot before heading into last night’s scheduled match on SmackDown.

During the finish, Miz nailed Scott Dawson with his pendant Skull Crushing Finale where his partner landed the Starship Pain on him to secure the victory and thereby a spot at Super ShowDown.

As noted earlier, Super ShowDown will be one of the last stops before this year’s WrestleMania scheduled for April 5th in Tampa, Florida. A number of Hall of Famers are rumored to be part of the show since the local fanbase wants them to be onboard.

However, no confirmations have been received regarding that, to date as WWE has not started building up the storylines, till now.
