Chris Gayle:

Famously known for his explosive batting, Chris Gayle had announced to retire from the limited-overs cricket after the World Cup 2019. However, the West Indies opener opted to rather take a break from the 50-overs game while refusing to admit that he made any announcements for his retirement.
The self-proclaimed ‘Universal Boss’ became the fearsome batsman of the shortest format owing to his stunning knocks in the Indian Premier League (IPL) and the T20I games he played for the team. Whereas, his form kept dipping in the 50-over game and Test cricket.
Gayle, who scored a fare total of 7,214 runs from 182 Test innings in the red-ball game, last featured for the team in 2014 against Bangladesh. In the meantime, the 40-year-old Caribbean smasher gave a glimpse of his calibre in the IPL 2019 and continued the run-making streak in the World Cup 2019.
Nevertheless, since the conclusion of the prestigious one-day international tournament, Gayle hasn’t be seen wearing the national jersey. There are chances that he might come forward and bid his goodbye to the game, this year.
