India storm into the final of ICC Under-19 World Cup:

In a rematch of their tournament-opener, India will take on Australia in the final of the ICC Under-19 World Cup after thrashing Pakistan in the second semifinal on Tuesday. Batting first, India rode on Shubman Gill’s unbeaten knock of 102 to post a competitive 272 for nine in the allotted 50 overs.
In reply, Pakistan was all out for a paltry 69. Ishan Porel was the pick of the bowler, taking four for 17 while Shiva Singh and Rayan Parag picked up two wickets apiece.
On Monday, Australia had thrashed Afghanistan by six wickets to qualify for the final.
Melbourne to host final of men’s, women’s 2020 World T20:

Melbourne Cricket Ground will host the final of both the men’s and women’s World Twenty20 when Australia host their first-ever World T20 tournament in 2020, the International Cricket Council announced on Tuesday.
The women’s tournament will be held from February 21 to March 8 before the men’s teams fight it out from October 18 to November 15.
It will mark the first time the tournaments are held as stand-alone events in the same year in the same country. West Indies are the reigning men and women’s world T20 champions.
Yorkshire signs Cheteshwar Pujara:

After going unsold in the recently-concluded IPL auction, Cheteshwar Pujara will ply his trade for Yorkshire in the upcoming English domestic season, Yorkshire County Cricket Club announced on Tuesday.
The 30-year old is set to arrive in the United Kingdom just in time for the Leeds Bradford MCCU fixture on April 7. It will be Pujara’s second stint with Yorkshire. The right-handed batsman, who had also played for Derbyshire and Nottinghamshire, had previously played for Yorkshire in 2015.
West Brom beat Newcastle to sign Daniel Sturridge on loan:

Out-of-favour Liverpool striker Daniel Sturridge will spend the second half of the season on loan to fellow English Premier League team West Bromwich Albion, the clubs confirmed on Monday.

“Sane has since undergone scans that confirm the 22-year-old is set for a spell on the sidelines – although no timeline has yet been set for his return,” Manchester City said on their official website.
The Indian Olympic Association (IOA), on Tuesday, appointed its joint secretary Vikram Singh Sisodia, as the Chef-de-Mission for the forthcoming Commonwealth Games to be held in Gold Coast, Australia. The IOA also appointed three team managers to accompany Sisodia and help him in the day-to-day duties during the Games.
The three team managers are Modern Pentathlon Federation of India General Secretary Namdev Shirgaonkar, Asian Sailing Federation official Ajay Naarang and Andeman and Nicobar Olympic Association Secretary General V A Shiyad.
The upcoming edition of the games will be held from April 4 to 15 in Gold Coast.
