Australia won the Ashes 4-0 after winning the fifth and final Ashes Test by an innings and 123 runs, as the tourists could not survive the last day of the match and were bundled out for 180 in their second innings in Sydney.
England’s captain Joe Root who was batting at 58 was taken to the hospital after being dehydrated on the final day because of the scorching heat in Sydney. He was the top scorer for England in the second innings.
Pat Cummins was the pick of the bowlers for the hosts picking up four wickets while Nathan Lyon picked up three. Cummins was also adjudged the man of the match in the fifth match. Australia’s captain Steven Smith was adjudged the man of the series for scoring 687 runs at an average of 137.40 in the five Tests.
South Africa vs India, First Test, Newlands, Cape Town
After the third days play getting washed out due to rain, India has dismissed South Africa for mere 130 in the second innings, having taken eight wickets by giving away just 65 runs. India now needs 208 runs to win the first of the three-Test matches at Newlands, Cape Town, and their first at the venue.
