Goldberg made his WWE return at the WWE Super Showdown PPV event to soon become the Universal Champion, again. Now he is set to take on Roman Reigns on the grandest stage of them all.
As confirmed on this past week’s episode of Smackdown, a ‘spear vs spear’ match will be going down on April 5th in Tampa Bay, Florida in a fantasy matchup.
WWE’s Latest Signee Scarlett Bordeaux Teases NXT Debut
Heading into this dream bout, the former WCW franchise player opened up on a number of topics. Goldberg appeared on WWE’s The Bump while discussing his upcoming match against The Big Dog of the WWE.
He admitted to having a dream to face the Big Dog for years. Ever since he learned that the Georgia Tech alumni use the Spear inside the ring, he could not wait to put him to the test.

Talking about the deadly move, Goldberg discussed how his spear is different than that of the current franchise player of the WWE. He claimed to hit the spear a lot harder despite the aging issue. Also, Roman Reigns delivering the spear is more “theatrical” whereas he is all about delivering pain to opponents,
“I don’t care what age. I can still deliver a spear a hell of a lot harder than he can. So, we’re gonna see.”
“I don’t spear to make contact. I spear to go through people, so there’s a difference, you know. There’s a difference. There’s just a big difference. His is a little bit more theatrical and mine is all about delivering pain. So, I think that’s the difference.” (courtesy ringsidenews.com)
WWE Star Paige Underwent Emergency Surgery; Gives Update On Health
It’s almost certain that WWE is using Goldberg to put over Roman Reigns in a big way at Wrestlemania 36. He’d certainly drop the Universal title to the poster boy of the company, no matter what to go into another hiatus. But that does not lessen his confidence, at all. While continuing the comments, Goldberg wanted to ‘rip his face off’ when the match happens,
“I came back for a reason and that’s why I cam. [Roman Reigns] has been in my sights ever since, you know I heard that I heard he played for Georgia Tech and he does the spear. Period. It doesn’t go any further than that. I love Roman to death. I greatly appreciate what he’s able to do and outside of the ring I’m one of his number one fans. There’s no doubt about it.”
“There’s no animosity there. I have a job to do. Babyface, heel, I don’t give a damn what it is. I’m gonna go out there and I’m gonna rip his face off like I try to do with everyone else.”
Roman Reigns is not the one to mess around and he must have not taken these comments, lightly. Moving forward, we are likely to see him replying back to the legendary superstar on Smackdown.
While he will appear in all of the upcoming weekly shows, Goldberg will be present only in some selected nights.
